the six foot lanes are way to small. try almost doubling the lane size. 10' minimum! trying to run down a 6' straightway, especially with other vehicles will be quite difficult. a good track will flow. not too much technical stuff (tight corners, etc) but enough that the lap times are not too quick. one long straight stretch is probably enough and not too much of an oval. remember a 1/10 truck can be about a foot wide, plus it need running room to maneuver. if you allow say 2 feet per vehicle, your track is then for practical purposes, only 3 vehicles wide. way to narrow.

try somethin with one long straight and maybe a half straight, a hairpin, a couple s corners, couple reg corners, add some jumps and dips and bumps

Default tracks Revisited

Okay so here are some mods I did to 'D" (we'll call this Track D Revisited). I have 8' lanes, except one 6' lane (aka "The Squeeze"). Jumps are max 12"......

Let me know what you think......

what you should do is look at a bunch of pictures of tracks and get a feel for them.

I do agree that it looks too 'oval'. you only want one straight away/ fast section on a track. I also think your track layouts look to angular, so you might want to experiment rounding it out.

Nice layout! RR40, could you also provide in there the heights that you would recommend for the jumps, TT, and RS?

Thanks!

Thanks

That sounds very reasonable and logical.

I think at first I am going to have small jumps, probably about 4" off the ground (the Traxxas Rustler is about 7" high).

BTW..THANKS ROB!!!!

Rob, I think you're way off on your height recommendations, and a full size stadium track rule should not apply to R/C. Small jump 4" That's a bump not a jump. I no expert, and am a far cry from a track builder. 4 foot high is more like it for a Medium. 6 - 8 foot high for large. and 2- 3 foot for a small. Anyone else concur?
