Default newbie wants 1/10 RTR Nitro Truck

Howdy RCer's. Just wondering what kind of RTR nitro truck to buy. Preferably 1/10 scale and middle of the road in quality. Need something upgradeable and fun to learn with. Thanks

HPI firestorm just what you want. upgradeable (fits pretty much any engine .12-.21) easy to work on, middle of the road. its a beefed up version of of the assosciated GT2...

i second the firestorm, you can get a big block conversion and so you can go to huge .28 engines and you can get 5 inch wheels

If you know you are going to race go with a GT2. I don't know too much about the HPI RTRs so I can't say if they are good or bad. Hobby shops, also are more likely to stock Associated parts. If your LHS stocks HPI then it doesn't matter. Have you considered electric? Usually for a noob they are easier to learn and work on and require less maintenance. Also there is less break-in with an electric, and with brushless and LiPo technology they get great runtime and power like a nitro.

hey,
A very good, reliable car that can be upgraded and can get parts for is the Team Associated GT2.

most ppl at the track where i come from either drive a losi AD2 or the associated GT2. Both give a lot of bang for the buck.
