HPI RTR RS4 3 or Yokomo GT-4 RTR?
I am interested in getting one of the two. This would be my first r/c car other than the garbage tyco ones. I was more towards the HPI at first but now if I can get the Yokomo at a good price I might go with that instead. What do you people think? Whats the price range on the Yokomo?
EDIT: and also could u mention the pros and cons of the gt-4

I think the big question would be..are you planing on racing ? If so you could spend a little more and get a better racing car than the hpi.Maybe even wait a bit and get there new racer...what kind of cars do they run at your local track?

i think all the local tracks are closed at least thats what I've heard
but I'm more on the casual use race down the block vs my friends type stuff

HPI or YOKOMO
Liquid_x,
I too was in the market for an RC the beginning of the year. I was looking at HPI, AE, YOKOMO, TRAXXAS. But after further research, I bought the YOKOMO GT-4RTR. Its a pretty good car. Like you I race with my friends on parking lots and streets. They have HPI, KYOSHO and two of us YOKOMO. Lets put it this way, I am glad I did not get the HPI. I assume you did your research about YOKOMO and its maximum speed and handling. The only problem I had with it was its tires. They dont stick well. Try getting a different set, foams or tires made by HPI (I think its called x-pattern or something). I have had three major incidents since I purchased it. I ran across a puddle of water. I hit a hole on the street causing my car to tumble forward and flip 3 times. I skidded and turned my car causing it to slide while spinning for about 10 feet while the engine still running. SO FAR NO DAMAGE TO THE CHASSIS. The only damage was to the body that was brand new and my muffler being displaced. Easy and fixable problems. Oh by the way, the two speed is very cool! Decide on which ones to get and let us now. PEACE!

I fully agree with etips76, just bought myself a YOKOMO GT4 RTR, runs and handles like a dream...the original tires dont grip too well, have since changed it to Sorex slicks, but i heard foam is better any advice?
