Default Considering a new transmitter/reciever setup

Hi old pals, been a while. Late last year I nabbed a well kitted out TC3 from a friendly forumite and used my archaic radio a Futaba 2PBKA aka the Magnum Jr from the mid 90's. It's a 75 Mhz AM Radio, I'm wondering will upgrading it give me any significant benefits or should I just keep it and put money into new batteries and a new charger as well. I've still got old NiCd battery packs.

Thanks for the help friends.

if the radio works fine, why replace it? you're not racing it are you?

i would invest in good, high capacity batteries (3300's and up), and also a decent charger. when you have those, upgrade the motor and/or esc if you desire.

good luck!

The tc3 already has a good esc in it. I'm concerned about the tx though since my car drives very glitchy.

so its glitching? look at the motor, and see if it has capacitors on it. and then make sure the reciever wire isnt frayed or damaged. if it still glitches, then maybe a new radio would do.

Wires are in good shape, the motor does not have a capacitor on it. Also my chasis is graphite and I was told it could be a contributing factor as well. I'm currently waiting for batteries to charge so I can try to figure out what's wrong.

on the batteries ive heard that 3300's can be pretty nice but the 4400's are the one of the latest of those kinds of batteries, theyre even better if u buy em unassembled and you assemble them yourself.

If you really want to upgrade try FM 75 or if you really want the best go with spektrum. Both have minimal glitching comaped to AM 75mhz.
