i have a team associated .15 engine. which uses a 5/16 wrench or socket for the glow plug. problem is i live in Japan... they only sell metric!!!!! the metric conversion for 5/16 is 7.938mm. but the guys at the shop i went to today said they don't carry that size.

what can i do other than ordering plugs from America on the internet? will 8mm plugs fit? or will 7mm hold up to compression without stripping out the threads??? is the threaded section actually 7 or 8 mm and the nut top is the only thing different/ in standard.

See how the 8mm fits. there should be a little play but you don't tighten the glow plug hard enough that the it should even come close to slipping or stripping anything out so it should be ok.

AS far as I know, all plugs are created equal, just get a glow plug wrench, and it sould work fine.
