Default RC18T Gearing problem

Anyways, I have an RC18T FT with a mamba 4200rpm/v motor in it.

What should I be looking at for gearing?

The last time I was running I smoked a diff (started melting). I'm sure that since I was running a lipo I was just running too long, but what gearing should I use and how much runtime should I limit to?

I've since switched to alloy diffs (with plastic gears), I'm just hopeing to figure out what kind of gearing I should look at so that I don't run into problems again. If I have to sacrifice speed then so be it, I just want a running car.

Thanks a lot to anyone who can help,

Mike
