Default What do you reccommend for a good battery ?

Hey everybody. When I ordered my kit on-line I ordered some basic batteries to get me started. They are 1500 mah. I wanted to know what type of battery I should be looking into so I can run my car longer between charges.

keeping in mind that i would still have the stock motor installed on it...

the higher the mah the longer the run time. Get some cheap 3800's or even 4200's these will gived u massive run times.

i just picked up two gp3300mah packs from radio shack. They have quite a punch to them. For $24 a peace you cant go wrong compared to $50 packs.

Are you looking for stick packs?

If so, I just run venoms in mine, their kinda cheap and easy to come by, but they pack some good punch and runtime (at least that's what I've seen)

those radioshack 3300 packs arent too bad, for the price. ex. i got a venom 3000 pack for 30, and the 3300from rad.shk. for 25. thats 300 extra mah! for 5$less. though, they are almost too cheep, matched cell packs are much better.

nicad and nimh batteries take a different charge.

I'm no expert, but i run they hefty 3700's and have quite a bit of punch. Also, more people at my local track run fusion batteries and some people just run whatever they can get there hands on. But if you want 20 minutes of run time, you want the orion 4800 lipo's. They will give you a lot of run time and a lot of punch but you would only want to run the motor 5-7 minutes depending on what pinion and spur you have on.

the fast guys at the track are probley always selling batteries, some people run them a few times and get new ones. These are normally still really good packs.

I forgot to ask, if you planed on racing I would check at the track to see what there rules are, anything over 3800 is not allowed by me.
