I often charge my batteries at 8+ amps for a final or something. It does hurt them but the performace gained is very noticeable.

Default Battery care

kpex: There are as many theories to battery care as there are brands. It's been my experience that everything is a trade off. You may gain some punch from high rate charging but you will likely have to buy new batterys sooner.
Here's a link to a battery matchers web page that I've had great results with. They want you to get the most out of their batteries and it's some good info:

I think I'll try the 6amp with 5mv settting.
Thanks again.

I have some GP3300's and I charge at 5amps and 4mv peak.
What would you recommend?
would 6amps be better suited for stock racing?
SPC has tested charge rates on GP3300, GP3700 and IB3800 packs, ranging from 3-Amps to 9-Amps in 1/2-Amp increments. A discharge rate of 30-Amps was used to digitally record actual voltages every 5 seconds during the following discharge cycles. After viewing and comparing all of the various discharge curves it was obvious that discharge voltage curves gradually improved as charge rates increased up to the 5.5 to 6-Amp range. Charge rates above 6-Amps showed declining discharge curves.

As charge rates were increased above 6-Amps, the corresponding discharge curves graphed lower as the charge rates went up.

I have always charged at 6 amps, except for big races I bump it up to 7 amps!

Default linear vs pulse

Any input on the best method for discharging NiMH batteries? I have read a lot of posts arguing the amperage for discharging certain applications, but I don't understand why so many people choose to use a bulb discharger over the discharger built into most charging units. Does a linear discharger provider better battery life than pulse?
