Blade mCX2 - super easy, fun indoors and will teach you the basics. No outdoors, too light.

Blade mSR/mSRX - more challenging, but doable once you get used to it and can teach you a lot more than the mCX2 can. Outdoors in dead calm only.

Blade 120SR - much larger, about double an mSR. More challenging still, can be flown outdoors with a light breeze.

MCX2 - coaxial

mSR/120SR - fixed pitch

mSRX - fixed pitch flybarless

The mCX is an older version of the mCX2, it has a rate mode gyro. The mCX300 is just an mCX with a Hughes 300 body.

The mCPX is a much more difficult collective pitch flybarless helicopter. Better as a 2nd or 3rd helicopter.

Esky HB2 is a larger fixed pitch heli, personally I would stay away from Esky stuff.

Stay away from off-brands ... like xheli.

Instead, pay more money up front and you'll get a better quality helicopter and it will actually be easier to learn on than the cheap crappy ones. The saying "you get what you pay for" really applies here

The mSRX is a bit more stable than it's flybarred brother and has more power.

Personally I'd go with the mSRX over a 120 because it is more durable and you can fly it inside when it is raining.

The Trex 100S is similar to a mSR (not X), but has a crappier radio. If you upgrade to a nicer Spektrum radio in the future, you can still fly the mSRX.

Gotta have a pretty big area if you want to fly it indoors.

The mSR/mSRX are a lot more durable than the 120SR, being smaller.

I received the 9958 over Christmas and it was a pretty impressive heli really. My only other experience was with a CX2. The CX2 was to big to really fly around in my house and was hard to fly outdoors in all but zero wind.

I am having some issues with the 9958 after a crash that I havent been able to correct yet (TBE). Ordered a Trex 100s last night too (easier to get parts for locally). The radio is a nicer unit than the Blades in my opinion and it will bind to more models than the Spektrum equipped Eflite. Since I already had a Turnigy 9x radio, I went with the Trex. The Blade and Trex seem to be similar in quality and support is certainly better than the units coming out of China though they cost twice as much. Hoping to jump into the MCP after a few more months with training wheels.

Not sure where you're getting that idea.

Couldn't be further than the truth

I work at a hobby shop and about 75% of the helis we sell are BNF or RTF Spektrum-compatible. The rest are more expensive Align kits that don't come with electronics.
