Default Can It Be Done?

I have a friend that likes military helicopters. Something we were wondering between us today was is it possible to scratch build an RC heli. We were guessing the answer will be no. But also is it possible to use parts from another RC heli to do the same job. Basically the helicopter in question is an apache and a large scale one. Or as large as possible. WE DONT WANT TO ACTUALLY DO THIS PROJECT. ONLY FIND OUT IS IT POSSIBLE

its possible to do it from parts, as complicated as helis seem there are only a couple of key components, the electrics do the rest. but everything needs to be precise on it. but to build your own from scratch would take quite a bit of know how in production, flight and electronics.

I think Thunder Tiger make a scale fuse. of the apache and I saw another company in a mag. just can't remeber the name, it might be easier to buy one than build one. just my $.02 hope this helps.

Of course it's possible, but you can really get into a WHOLE LOT of money (and headache) if you're not already set up to do it. Scale (no flybar) 4 blade head, etc. I've "scratch built" a couple of helis, but I've got a huge machine shop/machinists and endless resources at my disposal and several people looking over my shoulder, that are much more adept than I, to tell me "that'll never work"
