Default FS one vs Real flight 4.5

i could not find this questions answered elsewhere in this forum

I realize g4.5 has many more add ons and more options of planes but what i need to know as a RC driver wanting to head for the sky more,

does it matter which one i use to practice RC flying.. i realize there are different planes, but i will be starting on a trainer and moving up with specific goals of eventually getting either a Warbird of some type, stayign electric..

so is one of them going to help me more than the other to learn and practice flying on?

I am very tempted by the G4.5 add ons but costs need to be considered as well FS One 4$99 vs. 4.5 $199

I used RF3.5 for a while trying toi learn to fly heli - ideally you should try to find the same thing yoiu're going to actually try to fly, it does make a diff.

You may want to go over here - there are some planes offered here that you can upload -

This was where I found the heli I was building.

In all honesty, between the two that you asked about Real Flight is Hands down the better of the two. l have owned both and can tell you that Real Flight is better.
Also, there is no support for the FS One. There is a reason why FS One is so cheap. You can actually find it for $79. If you even think that you will be learning to fly a heli, then go with Real Flight if that is the only two choices.
If you are, or if you know some one who is wanting to learn to fly helis, then I wholeheartedly recommend the Phoenix Sim.

I've got RF G3/3.5 and G4/4.5... 4.5 is kinda a resource hog, so make sure you've got a good computer...plenty-O-ram and a good vid card... if you're going to run that.

The difference between the two (G3 and G4) is not much really. The reason I mention all this is that you may be able to find G3/3.5 cheap on ebay or something.

A license for Clearview is 39.95 now. It's not quite as fancy as the others but if you have a TX with a trainer cord, a bit of searching (PPjoy, Smart Propo), and you'll be able to learn control and orientation just about as well as on the others. Otherwise you can configure it to use a gamepad or buy a TX type controller or USB cable with your TX. You can download a demo here.

Good luck

realflight is nice but its become more of a video game with a lot of useless junk on it, if you want something with some support and the ability to download planes, plus want to do it on a ok computer you should consider aerofly pro,

it takes forever for realflight to load but only seconds for aerofly, which you will appreciate in the long run. Forget about fsone

lol...you bad, bad, person actually the problems just begin there. Dongle emulators, lack of full controller functionality, virus infested software, etc....I imagine it would take 3 months, 1 week, 2 days, 13 hrs., 46 min., 52 sec., to download RF via Bit Torrent.

oh what a tangled web we weave,
just to get
some stuff for free.

My sermon for the day. RaZ, consider your soul henceforth cleansed, go with god my son.

Default made a choice

so the local hobby shop that i plan to work with for my flying stuff eventually made me a great deal on RF 4.5... and i got to download the add on packs and i can get 5.0 for free when it comes out.. so i decided to give it a go

since i have nothing to compare it too i cannot give any comparison but it sure suits my needs and i feel liek it will help me when the time comes to actually try flying... now landing.. that is still a ways off......

I fly all E-Flite stuff......MCX, MSR, CX2, T-34 Mentor, Pulse XT25e, and the SU-26.....most of which are on FSone. Does it really help to fly the plane you have?
I ask because I flew with my Grandfather as a kid.....my favorite plane when I was 15 was a Great Planes Super Sportster....my new Pulse flies almost the same.
My local hobby shop has a demo of the Realflight on the floor, which has the sportster. Ive flown my pulse at the field, and then the sportster on the CPU later that day and they are sooooo close.
Does it matter?

the pulse and th super sportster are very close to each other flight wise, the sportster is a little more forgiving in real life. if you like the sportster you should check out the great planes escapade as well for the price.
