The box or the tray? The box the other way the top would sit higher then the lback of the boat. I have no clue where this goofy angled radio box came from anyway but it will work.

The box. If it's between 4" rails it's probably an Aeromarine. The reason for the angle is so that a tuned pipe can sit lower in the hull. You can probably understand it better because of your gas boat experience. Many racers will use angled pipes (100, 105 or 100 degrees) and the widest part of the pipe would go over the top of the box. here may be a little aerodynamic advantage also adding some downforce.

Yeah, I've been there too many times! I generally build one or two boats during the winter and when they're done by January you go nuts waiting for open water to run them!
I've got this Jersey Skiff that's going to take me a while to build, it was partially built but the previous owner messed things up in a few places that I've got to fix.

Really wish I had some patience. For a build.

I enjoy building. I suck at wood kits though. It's my get-away from everything in my shop, me and the boats with the stereo cranked up. I can stare at them trying to think of a better way to do something.

I might get some work done today on it. I have most of the stuff to finish.

projects on hold for now, I took a look at the motor and I'm pretty sure its junk. I'm seeing if I can sell the hull and maybe get a gas project.

That'll ruin your day!
I just came up to take a breather and to make it look like I was doing something today before the wife gets home.
A box arrived from Zippkits so I've got more stuff to put together and a little side trip to the LHS to grab a few more items while I was on the road.
Yeah, build another gas boat! I got spoiled on them since I got my first one. The nitro burners are collecting dust and am getting rid of them slowly.

Ya I'm parting the boat out hoping to get some of my money back. I really don't want to buy a new motor. I ended up selling it on craigslist.

That sucks. But there's nothing like a 2stroke to get a guy excited.
