Cool boat racing

Anyone know where you can get a floating clock or plans to build one for starting the races?
What timing software or systems do you use.

Race Timer, race timing software works well for running clubs, schools and race directors of small races that want do their own timing. Combine Race Timer with the pull-tag system for scoring a race and you're ready to quickly generate accurate results for your running race, skiing race or biking race.

Regards.
Andy.

You can go cheap or expensive. On the cheap side you can do an audio countdown using a CD player and some kind of loudspeaker system. On the high side you can get a digital electronic system that can show the present heat, countdown in a male or female voice, and a strobe light for when the clock hits zero. I prefer these over the older analog clocks as they're easier for the drivers and pit persons. I've seen those run $3-5,000.00.
The foam blocks can be made using thick insulation foam stuck together or get the floating dock foam from a marine store that sells it.
If you're running sanctioned district races then see the bodies rulebook as to what's legal and what's not.
There may be others but the only person that I know of building digital clocks is Randall Thomas in Canada. They run off 12-volt deep-cycle batteries that mount on the clock platform.
