Best money in FE boats right now is the Aquacraft SV27 brushless setup. Its 279.99 Complete and will do 35-42 MPH depending on your setup.Awesome boat!Lots of clubs are opening up a SV27 class just because this boat is that good.
thats what i was looking at. i dont race or anything like that. i just drive for fun and love boats. will it outrun most stock deep vee nitro boats? what about the traxxas villain ex? it seems decent? or is the SV27 better?

Villian will not be able to keep up.Matter of fact.the stock sv27 can do about 32-35mph and the villian falls flat on it nose at 19-22mph.Hope this helps.
That boat {sv27 nitro} has awsome performance.Obviously not as plug and play as the brushless but is very fast.36MPH out of the box is not bad for an RTR.

I like the idea of brushless, but I'm trying to wean myself off NIMH batteries. If it came with a cutoff for lipo, I'd be ordering one today.
all you need to do is get one to put into the boat. they arent too much are they? cost wise i mean
This boat uses 12 cells right? So you are into it for say $120 dollars for some decent cells, and you get say 10-20 minutes of play time (sorry I don't know the runtime), and then you have to go through all the usual bs with nimhs. Discharge, equalize, cool, recharge, hours have gone by. So if I only buy one set of cells, I'd don't see this being much fun with only one pack. And where do you plug in a charger out at the dock? Just thinking out loud here. IMO, you need a couple of changes of cells to have some fun.
yes, but in the long run, electric saves up due to nitro costs. and, you dont have to sit and wait for the boat to drift into shore if you run out of gas. whenevr the batteries get low, you just pull it in, and most chargers can run off of a 12V power supply, meaning a car or boat battery will work fine out on the dock. you can get 2 decent 3300 batteries for about $50 off of towerhobbies too. i use them and they work fine. not the best for racing cars no, but give me a good 10-15 minutes of run time and charge in about 45 minutes on a not so good hobbico charger. IMO electric is better than nitro. both on and off the road

I am planning on getting a SV brushless when there back in stock. I got the kids a couple Mini V's and they are awesome. I ordered a couple Lipo's for them. Hopefully we should all get 30 min of runtime.
towerhobbies.com has them for like $279 plus you can get a $25 discount on all orders over like 130 or something. im planning on getting the boat later in the year. probably some time in the fall
