Default Hobbywing V10 G2 17.5 motors

How do these motors compare to some of the other more purpose built stock 17.5 motors? Any good?

Solid. But not spectacular.

But equally will not let you down and if your driving is up to it, won't be the reason you're off the podium.

I agree with the above statement. I use both the the hobbywing 17.5, and the 21.5, both being V10 G2s.

While the motors may not have that extra 2-5% you'd get with a motiv or fantom, they have proven to be VERY solid & reliable, with no signs of slowing down.

I've had the top drivers at my local track take around both my T4s equipped with hobbywing motors, and they have all turned lap times exceptionally close or even identical to their cars equipped with high end build motors - so I have every confidence in them, and have been exceptionally happy with the results.

If anything, all of my hobbywing motors did benefit from some shimming - just to eliminate some minor excess play.
