Unhappy Where can I find old Sanwa Crystals? 40MHz?

I really need to find a crystal set for an old 40MHz Sanwa radio I have. Transmitter is an M-zechs TM1170 and receiver is a brand new (nib) SRC-2305RZ

It seems to take either first gen or second gen sanwa crystals... but I'm not sure. They are red/white and are not labelled "Type B" or "Type S". Not sure if these even matters? Can those be used?

I already have 40.73MHz TX and 40.63MHz RX but I cant for the life of me find any to match.

The best I could come up with is these couple of links. Are they trustworthy?

Cheers

(I had some links but I still can't post any)

I have Futaba, i can post pictures later when i'm home. It may be compatible?

My Futaba module takes crystals in it as does the Rx.

I switched to a 2.4Ghz module, so don't need them.

cheers for the replies guys.

i've been told that I can't mix brands with crystals and transmitters/receivers.

I have looked on ebay but unfortunately none are available. There are a few of type b and type s... though I am not sure if I can use these or not.

You can not mix Sanwa/Airtronics and Futaba product, they are proprietary. Sanwa/Airtronics can be used in Hi-tec products. You mentioned The-Border, you must be in EU. North America or south you can go Ebay, Amazon, Calibrex, or even Airtronics even though there closing down. or just go to Sanwa. You may have to purchase them by pairs(TX and RX) unless you have a Synthesize TX module.

Geezatec. Thanks

I'm actually in Australia. So unfortunately I can't buy things locally from the states. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing here for 40MHz in Aus. I was originally gifted the radio from a good friend in Japan, so I've been looking on yahoo auctions... but there is nothing I can use... I think.

Last year, I asked a few local RC hobby shops in Japan if they can order crystals directly from Sanwa, but unfortunately I was told they are no longer sold. "discontinued". I would love to purchase them in pairs. I honestly don't understand why they are sold individually.

If I could use type B or type S, it would be perfect as there are heaps on ebay. Though someone please confirm this

Considering you know of The-border... I assume they are trustworthy?

The Border I've dealt w 6 years ago. They're ok for Serpent parts. Maybe try Hitec Crystals. I think hobby shop in Italy probably your bet. 40mhz AM Crystals. It just takes to long for delivery in the USA.

Good Luck!!!

Try this. bspspares.com. BlackSmiths RC. Search, Hitec or Graupner 40mhz FM crystals. It looks like he sell them in pairs(TX &RX). He's located in the UK.
Difficult to search, cuz I'm in USA. We here some people still run 72&75mhz AM/FM systems in USA. But mostly 2.4mhz. Next thing to do, upgrade the system to 2.4. Crystal systems is in the dark ages. Use AM or FM system on my old model on my shelf, they still operate fine.

Good Luck again!!

Most FM are Sanwa compatible.

Problem of Sanwa crystals is that they are half the frequency (look under the sticker), with that knowledge you can try to find the right ones.
