Default Tekin RSX Combo motor whine/screech

Can someone help me?

Previously I had this same setup, landed off a jump and the motor had no power and was screatching.

Now I just got a brand new RSX and Gen 3 motor replacement. And upon install the motor sound is very high pitched screech/whine, but this time it has power and turns fine.

What the heck could be going on here?

I checked the wiring, it's all connected correctly, sensor wire is plugged in...

no i checked by taking the motor off the spur gear/drive chain

I ended up fixing it though. Except I don't know what I did, I took it apart and put it back together carefully and oiled the bearings and its better, but its still loud.

I'm used to trinity motors, seems tekin motors are extremely loud, does anyone else notice that?

Our motor shouldn't be "loud" no more than any other motor. Screaching can be a few things. It can be a misaligned bearing, loose shim or debris in the motor.

The magnets are super strong and if you set the motor on your workbench were there were any "loose" items it could have snagged one. I took a customers apart the other day and found a 3mm pinion set screw in his "noisy" motor.

Which motor is this? Where is the timing set? Esc settings?

It's also very possible to have a bad rotor, Iv'e had a couple in the past that weren't bonded correctly to the rotor shaft. One was in a brand Reedy 550 can, the other was in a Trinity D3 540 can, it's not super common but it happens.
