Default Raise the esc?? losi 8ighte 3.0

I just bought a losi 8 3.0e roller and I purchased a mamba monster 2 combo to power it. The pre soldered wires on the motor are just a hare short like an inch. If I could mount the esc on a block of something to raise it off the chassis about an inch I think I will be fine. Anyone got an idea of what to use to put under the esc to lift it off of the chassis? Or can I open up the motor and add longer wires?

Are you running the ESC in front or behind the battery?

I am thinking just to extend them with bullet connections.

I have seen pictures of it with the battery tray moved forward. I am going to give that a try.
