Default iCharger 4010 Duo

I recently purchased the iCharger 4010 and S1200 power supply. Although being in the hobby since the 80's and always a nitro guy I am anticipating the days when my two young boys follow in my foot steps hence the reason for the top of the line charger.

Question: What are the guidelines on charger setup, meaning how much current and amps do you guys charge a pack? I have an old Futaba Magnum PCM 1024 which has a battery tray holding 8 AA batteries. I upgraded the batteries with Orion NiMh batteries and almost melted the tray and transmitter. Clearly I charged with too much current and I dont want to make any further mistakes. Thanks for your advice!

I usually charge transmitter AA cells at 0.5 Amps. Might go up to closer to 1.0A if in a pinch, but they get hotter than I like. Can't remember the delta peak I use for sure, 5mV per cell I think for NiMH.

Depends on what you're charging. For those radio batteries I would have to see the specs to give you a proper answer. My radio batteries I charge at 2.5amps. My lipo's I charge at 20amps and discharge at 20amps. Hopefully that video will shed some light for you.

I have the same charger and it's the best buy charger wise ive ever made. What lipos are you running? What are their specs?
