Default Traxxas Id connectors?

I get what they are meant to do but can they charge off of the regular old traxxas plugs? I have traxxas cable thet came with my charger, onyx 235, and i was wondering if the standard connector that came with the charger could charge batteries with Id connectors, and if batteries without id connectors could be ran in a car with an esc that has Id connectors. I dont want to have to buy the traxxas charger and i dont want to get different plugs. Anyone know? Thanks.

I can guarantee it won't charge on the old style. Because the balance wires are built into the charge plug on the ID batteries. Old style had a separate balance plug. Now if the ID plugs will work on the old style Esc, I don't know. I have to be careful now to make sure I get the old style myself when buying lipos.

If you are talking about NiMH batteries, all Traxxas connectors are compatible. My son just got an E-Maxx with the ID connectors and our old Traxxas batteries plug right into the ESC and the new batteries connect to the old charger connectors with no issue. Now if you're talking about LiPo it's a different story. Those have to be matched (iD to iD).

Traxxas makes a plug that allows the new battery connectors to be used on another charger.
