Default KO Helios or Futuba 3PK?

Have a dilemma, a friend interstate wants my Hyper 8 buggy (roller) and has offered to trade me either his KO Helios with a spectrum 2.4ghz module or a Futuba 3PK also with a spectrum conversion. I need a new radio after my trusty old JR XS3 has started to die. Both are old radios but still good from what I have read, he's also sent me a dozen pics of both and they look in very good condition, just unsure what's a better unit? I also have largish hands.

Any help appreciated

Reply to my own thread, I'm leaning towards the Futuba but should I skip it and save up for a more modern radio? Or are they still pretty good units?

Just my opinion, save up for a new radio. I've had a 3PK since it came out, and has served me perfectly, but the radio is dated and may not be as well supported. I'm also the type of person who prefers new over used.

I've used both.

Don't buy ether with the spectrum crap. Both the KO and Futaba 2.4 systems work much better.
