My ps checks 12.14v on the output but the 308duo shows that it's 12.326v as it's input voltage. Not sure why the difference unless my dvm is off.
Charging 1 4s pack at 30a it showed as high as 17.181v @ 24.73a = 425w
Charging 2 4s packs at 30a it showed 16.66v @ 18.87a & 16.59v @ 18.97a = 314w on each channel
This test doesn't change anything for me personally as we don't charge that high anyway nor do we ever charge 2 4s packs at the same time but it does change my recommendations for power supplies going forward depending on the end users requirements.

Your results appear to confirm that charger power scales reasonably well with power supply voltage.
Thanks for taking the time to test and post the results.

So it seems like most of these new high power chargers cut power output a bunch when using a 12V supply even if the 12V supply has plenty of amps. Are they all like this or is there a certain brand that can output more power on a 12V supply? My supply is 12V 75amp 900watt and works great for what I'm using it for but if I step up to a icharger or powerlab it looks like it will only do so much being 12V. Interesting thread.

I place my order for the 308 duo yesterday. i still have not sorted out what i will do for power supply. I'm not entirely comfortable with the making my own even though it would be cheaper. i also don't like the way those computer supplies look. lol i wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of some of these charging station set ups.
I currently race off road 10th scale and mostly run shorty packs i will probably get a 1/8th scale in the coming months so being able to charge 4s will come into play. as much as i don't like the look of it the shuur speed power supply seems like it would do the job and is pretty inexpensive. is that an accurate assumption?
I know many of you use this charger to its full capacity and have 24v PS to meet that need. i will more than likely never charge above 15A on 4s 5000mah or 6000mah lipos.
thanks for any advise.
