That is in irrelevant objection. You should always use flux on parts you are about to tin or solder.

I've tried others but this stuff works. The above three products from Novak, a wet sponge, a piece of Emery cloth, and a 40watt iron are what make up my "soldering kit". I have never had a joint fail once, even under extreme heat!

+1, soldering 101... follow a consistent proper procedure every time and you won't have any joint failures.
