Default Savox 1258tg noise VIDEO *** SOLVED ***

so ive got a new savox servo with 1 practice day on it, about 15 2s packs and 3 3s packs. my last run of the day I noticed a really weird chirping/squeak...

at first I thought it was my linkage/servo saver binding but I removed my servo horn and the noise is still there.

sounds to me like a stripped gear but its brand new and intermittent. kinda bummed about it. other than that it works great! take a look

what esc are you running? Rx8's, mamba 1/10's and the viper esc among others can glitch the servo, maybe try a bec?

I emailed them and they haven't emailed back yet. I'm running a mamba max pro. The servo works great just has that loud noise intermittently

sounds like the motor takes a quick spin on it's own but that makes no sense because it seems to operate correctly other than the noise... hmmm The gears sound ok, if so maybe the first gear is slipping on the motor shaft ? no... it sounds like it works fine other than that noise. Try holding the wheels and turning... see if there is some slippage inside the swervo. I'd be tempted to take it apart, lube ?
You know if you did it just right by turning left and right quickly you could make it sound like a Club DJ on the turntable....

An electronic gremlin is stuck between the gears. Or low grease in the gears.

That sounds exactly like a brushed motor that has not been properly oiled bushings. I would take all the gears out and then try it to see if the sound is still there. Then if it isn't, grease the gears and try again. People seem to have mixed feeling about savox cs.

Here is an update from savox today. I purchased the servo from a user on here but it was sealed new in the package so I guess I'm kinda screwed on this one.

Also I tried holding the wheels to get it to slip and it holds firm no grinding or slipping at all. Kinda stumped. Was waiting to get an answer from them as to what it could be so I could take it apart and fix it myself but this is what they said :

" Hello,

Thank you for the inquiry. That is is an abnormal noise, but I have heard it before.

I would submit this for warranty replacement. There is an RMA procedure described on our site here:

https://www.savoxusa.com/Articles.asp?ID=133

When you are ready to proceed click on 'Submit RMA Request' and fill out the following form. Be sure to attach your receipt at the bottom using the browse button.

Please keep in mind that we are moving our facility this week and approval of the RMA might be toward the end of the week/first of next.

Regards,

All my batteries are 5000mah each. I only have 10 pack but I charge as I go. Do you guys only run a few packs a day when practicing? Doesn't seem that weird to me to run 15 packs in a day lol.

Its either a bad bushing or bearing.
