I have had Hitec, Savox and now Spektrum seems like a good bang for the buck.
I have one in my TC and have one on order for my D8.
As for requirements, anything 175-300 oz/in and .15 or lower for speed should suffice.
Of course that depends on what you want to spend, more $$ will get you better specs.

I've been using a Hitec 7955tg for over a year without a single issue. Expensive, seems durable and fast enough for me.
