Everything is modable and tunable if you aren't afraid to open the case. I have made a two stage spring in a TX before, using a modified ball point pen spring. I don't recommend doing such if your not mechanically inclined, but if you are why not try some creative adjustments?

Apologizes if I missed it, but have you re-calibrated the radio?

I have had the same "glitch" with the steering on my radio also.... did updates etc etc nothing worked. I pulled the steering assembly off the radio and sprayed the "steering pretentioner" board with contact cleaner really good and blew it out with air put it back together and the issue was fixed.... I do not know if dirt is getting their or what but that fixed my issue. only took about 5 minutes to do so.. just a couple screws and whalla

I have to agree with ATXPro4 back on page 72.
Both are real good from what I have seen and heard, but if you really want to protect your investment from the elements, Pelican cases can't be beat.
They are much tougher and will last forever, not to mention they are leak proof and impervious to any sort of chemicals or liquids and hold a great resale value for the life time of the case. You simply can't go wrong with these.
If you know how to work craigslist or ebay, you can sometimes find steals if you don't have to have brand new one. You can always buy new foam.

Here is his original post and pictures.

As cool as metal futaba box's are I prefer pelican for my high end electronics.
If you get another radio you can get a new foam insert for about 30.00 and it's good to go.

Thanks Shawn_S and blktransam tried both and still have the problem.

Think l'll try the contact cleaner again caused i think it might of helped, there still is fluctuations but not quite as severe. Hopefully another go at it could do it.

Thanks for all the help.

I currently have the protek case. However, you need the pick and pluck foam right now as they do not have the 4px inserts. I would go with the futaba case if starting over. The hinges are much nicer.

I too am having the steering stutter problem on my 4PX. I believe the problem is with the radio itself since the servo view on the screen shows the stuttering of the steering channel, even when powered up in Display mode only. I bought mine in Tokyo last August 2014 so unfortunately I can't make any warranty claims. It was working fine when I upgraded the firmware to 1.2 last month.

I have a protek with a 4pls insert and it works well. The Futaba 4px case is a whole step or 2 above. Futaba makes top quality gear.

I have the 1.1e on my radio. Wonder what the issue is with the 1.2?? Not upgrading here...

The steering stutter problem on mine seems to be fixed after I disassembled the steering wheel/switch assembly. I did not use compressed air or contact cleaner, I just removed the wheel and split the case open, which disconnected the steering wheel shaft from the potentiometer. After reassembly, the problem seems to be gone.

The futaba one is nice, but not worth the money. If it was at the older price point of 49.99-59.99, it wouldnt be so bad, but 100.00????? Its the same as the 4pk case except they wrapped it in faux carbon fiber. Other than that and a specific foam for the 4px its exactly the same. Guess the asthetics cost more so they passed that overhead onto us. I have both and they work well, and for shorter guys can even withstand using it as a foot stool on the driver stand, just wish it was a little less expensive.

The problem is that you cant get the Protek form for 4PX. They have been out of stock for the last 6 months.
