Perfect, thanks so much. I'll likely go with the 304E then. I like the internal antenna.

That's great info! I always wondered why my R614FS and FF-E's (I run the 4PKS-R) weren't smart like my super cheap Spektrum receivers with the model-specific binding.

Do you guys just charge these LiFe batteries outside your transmitters then?

I just find plugging in my radio when the battery is low is more convenient. considering that my 4PKS-R can run 9hrs+ on the factory Nimh.

YES! charge outside of radio

no way I want my $500 radio to catch fire when my batteries have an issue....I have seen nicd, nimh and lipo fires

I only charge it at home between races, never had to charge at the track

At least the LiFe batteries you can charge them and keep it in the charged state like NiCd/NiMH.

Wow, I've been using the plug-in slow charger on my past radio's and my 4PKS-R. Never had such issue! I must be lucky.

I also modded the charger plug so that I can plug it into the radio -or- plug my spare TX NiMH to it outside the radio and charge. (not charge at the same time, BTW).

Very lucky indeed,

The radios lack the smarts to charge the LiFe batteries and they will over charge them causing potential for disaster.

I also don't understand why you can't reverse the channels in the radio, as I thought this function was available to help with a reversed motor. However, the distributor told me that it could have caused issues with this setup and my ESC.
Wait, let me get this straight, you're trying to reverse the direction of the motor from the radio???

You can't do that! If you use the servo reverse feature for channel 2, what you're doing is changing what the throttle does when you pull the trigger. In other words, if you pull the trigger and the brakes are applied, and pushing the trigger makes the car accelerate, then reversing ch.2 in the radio will fix that. It will not change the direction the motor is spinning.

That will be fine then, the 4PK/4PX can safely charge NiMh/NiCads from the charger port (slow charge).

Mine included the dry battery tray. However, some box options may differ for example, some boxes are optioned with a TX battery and 2 RXs. If this is the case, maybe the manufacturer doesn't include the dry tray thinking it wouldn't be used?

Did you buy yours new or used? If new, was the box sealed?
