Default Your Favorite Radio Battery

What type of rechargeable AA battery are you using? I have a DX4R and need some really good batteries for it. I am currently using Duracell rechargeables.

I have used Duracell & they have worked well, same with energizer, both good rechargeable batteries. Best way to go though is with a rechargable pack like a LiPo or LiFe battery. I use a 6.6v 2s LiFe pack, just the HK nano-tech but it does a good job & even though its only 1450mAh it still lasts a fair while.

Yes lithium is the way to go now. They hold a charge better and longer, and they don't wear out as quickly as the nickel batteries.

My problem is the voltage from NI-MH batteries as they are low compared to regular batteries, 1.2 vs. 1.5. I have heard you can't use those Lithium battery packs for the DX4R radio.

Has anyone tried the NIZN batteries that are 1.6 volts each?

Yes but those are only 4.8 volts collectively. I too have a DX4R-Pro and would like to start with at least 6.0V....the NiZN AA's have a nominal voltage of 1.6V so 6.4V would be perfect.

I like to use the energizer ultimate lithium's. Last a long time in my 4PL. I tried using rechargeable nimh batteries a while back and couldn't get a race day through them in my radio. Won't use them again.

I'm gonna try 4 of those,,,,$14 for 4 here in Canada. Be a good test for this Spektrum radio as regular nihm's start dropping pretty quick on this Tx.

Personally I prefer nimh in my sanwa transmitter. I'm not a fan of lipos in transmitters as they are too light for me. I prefer a little bit of weight in the transmitter I also don't like the thought of a lipo going off in my expensive tx!

I use a LiFe battery now but started out using eneloops and tenergy rechargeables. Both worked fine.

The Energizers are not rechargeable. I guess I will try the NIZN batteries and let you know how that works out, but it will be a while before I race again.

energizer makes rechargeable batteries, http://www.energizer.com/batteries/r...s/default.aspx

I use duracell "stay charged" (which I don't think they make anymore) in my cameras and I can take about 300 pictures on AA batteries with the LCD on the whole time. they're not all that bad. 2000mah.
their new batteries are getting horrid reviews though.

I would seriously consider going the lipo route. I can use my airtronics radio for several hours a day once a week for weeks without it dropping below 7v.

I've literally have not charged my battery for about 3 weeks now and it's still at 7.4 volts.
it's an Intellect brand. it's by far the best lipo ive owned to date.
I will be buying some of these for my cars for sure.
