Default Mamba Monster 2 problems.

Hey there guys.

I have a Mamba Monster 2 combo with the 2650kv motor that is in my 1/8th scale e buggy. yesterday, the first time at the track, it quit working. No power to the rx, no lights on the esc light up, no steering. I changed batteries and same problem. Today, I used a multimeter and verified that there is voltage going to the ESC. Any ideas? I already emailed Castle tech support and will wait the couple days for a reply but I was hoping that someone here may have had a similar occurrence.

thanks in advance.

I have had problems with mine doing that. The culprit? The plug that plugs into the receiver wasn't getting a good connection. Light squeeze the plug with some needles nose pliers. Make sure your battery is unplugged.

Or try resetting it with the castle link software. If you have a program card all you need is an android phone cable. Plug one one end into the card. The other end into the computer. Download the software on castles site.

my castle link does not work. i have a new on order. and i will try the rx cord solution, but the status lights on the esc don't illuminate with a battery plugged in. It should still power up whether there is an rx plugged in shouldn't it?

If it still has the power switch on it remove it & jumper the wires together. Those switches are crap.

+1...all mine have had the switch cut off and the wires twisted together with electrical tape. Had that happen a couple times, no more.

i know the switches are junk, but the esc is less than a month old and the car has only had two or three packs through it. the last thing i want is to return it to castle and them to say, "sorry, you chopped off the switch and hard wired it, you are out of luck".

Awaiting an email from them now. It usually takes a day or two. in the meantime, i just got my new castlelink so maybe i can get into it..

Removing the switch doesn't Void the warranty. I like having the switch but now after have atleast 5 of them fail on my multiple Mamba Monsters and V2's i cut them off, solder the lead together and heatshrink it. You can always go to radio shack and buy a replacement also

I did connect to castle link with it today so the esc is not fried. I tried to jump the switch wires by just poking a probe through the insulation but it didn't work. I'll call castle tomorrow. It looks like the switch may be the culprit.

I too have sent one back with the switch cut off. It will not void the warranty.
I have seen someone get a good waterproof switch and it did not give problems. I forgot where he got it but it had a rubber cover over the switch, not only keeps out water but dust.

I eliminated the switch today and still nothing. The wires have voltage. Guess I'll have to wait for castle's reply. Thanks for the help guys.

By any chance are you using cloned deans connectors off eBay.

They can be the root of many nightmares.
