Default New Sanwa MT4S

http://sanwa-denshi.co.jp/rc/car/propo/mt-4s.html

No info on release date as far as I can see.
But it does have the backlit screen and M12 response times.

Looks like a decent upgrade for the MT4.

Does anyone have more info about this radio?

I 1st found this link in the m12 thread a few months ago. With what littls I can glean from that page, it appears to be m12 firmware in an mt-4 form factor. My question is why this was never reported on international news sites (redrc, neobuggy, etc). Is this a domestic only product? Is it a future product? Has anyone heard anything else about this radio?

It's the m11x wheel. Looks a lot better at least.

I just translated this via google translator. lol

Sanwa introduces the MT-4S, an updated version of the popular 2.4 GHz remote control MT-4. By the SSL function (Sanwa Synchronized link) of the MT-4S can be read and store the engine speed and the temperature controller, also the display is illuminated. To have the knob transmitter expected from Q1/2014.

features:

Backlit display with adjustable contrast
Transmission speed as M12
Sanwa Synchronized Link for controller programming on the transmitter
Telemetry function (receiver voltage, speed & temperature)
Four channels
18 model memory

they are making the screen backlit. Sign me up. Backlit and drop down at all I wanted from the mt4. so they gave me half of what I wanted.

Assuming this is priced similar to the current mt-4, what is the point of the m12 once this comes out? A drop down? I'll get the grid drop down. Even at $300 I'll get one of these over the m12. $350 puts in a close choice. More than that I'll probably end up with an m12.

By the translated add, it seems to have the same firmware as the m12. So, yes, it has the zero latency of the m12 so it is quicker than the m11x. Either way, an MT-4 with a 461, 462, 471, or 472 will be faster than an m11x with a 451r. The 451r is an fh3 receiver & is not as fast an fh4 receiver.

Please correct me if I am wrong. To get the actual zero latency you have to use the m12 (or mt-4s) AND a 471 or 472 receiver. The 461 & 462 are fh4 but do not support zero latency.

I also appears the transmitter can control the sanwa esc and use its telemetry and esc programming features. This thing is going to be bad a$$
