Default Why I Use nothing But Hitec Servo's

I have been a fan of Hitec Products for years mainly due to their customer service. A few years ago I returned a dead 5955 servo and they sent me a note saying the 5955 servo had been discontinued but here is a brand new 7955 servo to replace it with! In todays world of corporate greed and screwing the customers stuff like that is unheard of. Well a week ago I had 2 7955 servo's go bad on me. I packed em up and sent them both off to Hitec. Less than a week later I got them both back via FEDEX ground and 1 had broken gears and the other had a damaged amplifier. They put new gears and a new amplifier in the servos for me and sent them back to me completely free of charge! Not a penny on my end except for the shipping from me to Hitec. I didnt get any excuses or grumblings about how I damaged the gears, or I am too hard on the servo and so the amp got damaged, and If I want them fixed it would be $75 for the gears and the amp, blah, blah, blah...THEY JUST FIXED THEM AND SENT THEM BACK. What an amazing Company. Thank you Hitec! I will never put any other brand servo in my RC cars....
One Happy Customer,
James Allara

Keeping just one customer happy and spending a little is better than saving a bit up front, and loosing the customer forever.

Hitec realizes this. Good job.

I agree James, their customer service is awesome, but their servos are awesome as well. Had a 7940 go out on me after a year of running nearly every weekend due to too tight a servo saver. Sent it out and got one with a new motor and gear set a couple weeks later. Then my buddy Albert has his go out after probably only 10 races, but he had quite a few servo horns come loose and put alot of extra stress on the servo.

May not sound great, but these are their super high speed line, not torque line so the fact they lasted this long and through his abuse is amazing.

After all these years I still prefer Hitec. Simply because I hate having to send servos in for repair. It's a bonus that their repair service is so good the few times I have used it for the number I have in cars and planes.

+1 on all points. Hitec sets the standard in customer service and warranty work. Their servos have also been the best ever since they released their original titanium gear line years ago. I've got 5995, 5955, and 7955 servos that simply will not die. I personally don't understand why anyone uses any other brand in 1/8th scale and 4wd SC.

I made a comment on a thread once. It was a guy asking what the difference was between the CS-170 servo and the Hitec 7955tg. There were many posts saying it was the exact same servo blah blah blah.

I said "there is one huge difference, Hitec's world class support". And the next comment said "and what would that be?". I never answered. If you don't know you never will. Maybe someday he'll find this thread

There is no other choice. I'm still kinda amazed about the whole thing myself. In 12 years of RC I have had many servos go bad sooner or later and I keep expecting Hitec to tell me I have to send money but they never do. That 5955 servo I sent back was 5 years old. I wish all the companies worked this way! There would be allot more people playing with RC cars that's for sure.

the only brand of servos ive bought in the last 10 years is hitec. fortunately, ive never had to find out how good hitecs customer support is. i have had one servo fail on me, it was an 8 year old 645mg that i had running the hydro brakes in my 1/5 scale, one day it just let the magic smoke out. 1 failure in about 20 servos, and 8 years old, i cant complain. if it was a more costly servo i would have sent it for repair, but a 645, why bother.

I nhave one really good reason to dislike hitec servos. The twisted wires. hate hate hate hate. also the color of the servo wires bothers me, but mostly the twisting.

I was just looking at the specs on the hitec 8360. They look good, but I have been reading about reliability issues. Has anyone used these and used them hard?
