Default Novak Havoc Sport & SLYDR ESC motor choice help

Hi I have the Novak Havoc sport 8.5T combo and just ordered a SLYDR ESC.

Plan to run the 8.5T with the SLYDR ESC on my countersteer chassis.

And use the Havoc ESC with a 6.5 Velociti or Ballistic motor in my 50:50 basher chassis for high speed/rougher surfaces.

Can any tech heads let me know if these combinations are fine from a compatibility standpoint?

I think its fine, do consider that 8.5 is very high turn levels for drifting i had a 13.5 and it was to fast.

I thought the motor limit on the havoc was 8.5t. Running a 6.5 with it may work for a while but will probably burn it up eventually.

In most cases yes although my basher (Pro-D) chassis is geared from factory to suit around 5700kv minimum. Have run a 10.5 in the past and was barely enough to have fun in my garage.

This is the main concern. Keeping the havoc combo together and trying some smaller pinions is the much less preferred option.
