Bi-metal switch purchased here
Thermostat:KSD9700 40ºC : 104ºF : N.O. NO:Temperature:BiMetal Switch
Make sure you get a N.O. switch, normally open. They sent me the wrong switch at 1st ( N.C. ) and had to resend the correct switch. Seller was great though and fixed their mistake very quick.

My fan was 6V and wired up through a volatage regulator, so I wired the switch into the negative lead of the fan. The switch is slightly wider than the space between the resistors, but since I was replacing the resistors I opened up the spacing a bit to fit the switch in. Switch is attached with thermal tape, which I also used to mount the resistors.

Pictures show the hook up and the spacing where the switch is mounted.

my charger has been on for several hours and seems to have topped out at 101.1f and no fans running. the temperature does drop when the balance leads are unplugged as well.

Thanks.. I ran some tests today too. I left it on with no cables connected. Let the ambient temperature settle. 93.2f

Then plugged in a cable, and left for about 30 minutes. Temp rose to 103.6f

It was interesting.. as soon as I disconnected the balance plug temperature dropped immediately. I then plugged in again and left-in.. got distracted. Came back a while later an the temp was at 107.4f with the fans running. Again, pulled the cable out and temp dropped.

Our LHS carries the motiv and trinity leads. You can make them for way cheaper yourself though.

What number of cells are your packs?

TQ Wire does offer a nice cable set with a built-in switch that goes back and forth between 1 and 2 cell packs.

Otherwise, they also have cables configured for either 1 or 2 cell.

FYI...I have no experience beyond 2 cell packs...LOL

Do any of you change the storage default? The default discharge is 2A and cutoff is 3.5v.

I changed mine to 3.8 since that's what the battery manufacturer recommended. Discharge at 10 amps until I got a load bank, now I'm using 20-30 amps. 2 amps will take ages to dump a pack.

Having an issue hoping someone can help. Have a 308 and the right side at times doesn't want to turn on. When it is on and charging my charging plugs are hot. This only happens on the right side. It's not the leads as there is no heat issue to the left side using the same lead.

How do you setup the 308duo to charge and discharge at 50 amps?

you need to set the charger to synchronous mode which combines both channels together. It will charge at 50 amps, but you need power the charger with a car battery and use regenerative discharge if you want to discharge at 50 amps.
