Default How to test sensor operation TEKIN RX8

Just wondering if there is an easy way to determine sensor operation without unsoldering.

I have 2 SCTE trucks both RX8's , one with 4600kv very smooth take off, neither have any cogging issues

Other with 4000kv seems to have very abrupt start up, like 1/4 throttle right now.

Thanks Al

On the Tekin RS and RS Pro if you squeeze the throttle slightly, three lights dimly light up indicating proper sensor array performance. Don't know if RX 8 is the same. You might check the Tekin website for FAQs or the instructions for the RX 8. This info was in the instructions for the RSs.

Spn the motor shaft by hand. The three lights on the right should lightly blink. Helps if its a bit dim, as they dont light up brightly.

Thanks for info, correct on the good working unit they are dim, on the suspect 4600 they don't, sensor wire ok

Does that mean its the motor? or ESC?

The RX8 will run either motor. Itll look for sensors. You probably need a new sensor board. They are pretty cheap and easy to change.
