Default Radio ideas?

I'm looking to get into a computer radio for my SCT. Any idea what to go with?

How advanced in RC are you? Do you need a lot of bells and whistles?

I'm just a weekend racer. I run an electric SCT so I don't need a lot of channels. I don't think I need telemetry but I'm open to the idea.

Futaba 4PL is an awesome mid range radio. Really nice feel and great quality with some awesome features for the price.

Agreed. +1 for the 4PL. Otherwise the mid range stuff from Airtronics is nice too.

A very good radio is the Futaba 3PK. They can be had for cheap, but are still a top notch radio. This was Futabas top teir for many years. It has setting so you can keep it basic, or have more options than youll know what to do with.

Is anybody using telemetry? Is it user friendly and worth the money?

Telemetry really serves no purpose in RC cars.

I dunno about that. I have an MT4 and I'm using the temp sensor to monitor the motor temp in my D8t-e. To be fair though, it's a new-to-me truck and I'm still working on the setup so I pay more attention to the temperature of that than I do on my Rusty with 250 packs thru it.

That's what I was thinking. Using the temp meter for tuning.
