Ive tried similar 3racing heatsinks , that were only held on by double sided tape.
They would fall off easily & get tangled up in the car.
This is a three racing double fan heatsink. I agree with you that double sided tape is just plain wrong. My son put two slightly larger and longer screws through the bottom two holes in the forward fan until they touched the can of the motor making the entire heatsink a clamp. Please look @ the picture of the RED Losi, see the fan ? See the bottom two silver screws ? They act as the clamp

I know this may not be the appropriate place but any concern or praise on using the Turnigy ESC's with these motors?
I am thinking of the 120A TrackStar Gen II ESC for my TC and a 100A sensored ESC (used) for the Vaterra TW.

Oh and BFS, can you possibly remove that pic or at least re-size it? Just trying to load this page is painful.

There has been a lot of discussion about the ROAR approval of the motors on this thread. How many of you also require legal "Blinky" esc's? The Turnigy's are not ROAR approved (supposedly they are submitted).

where are you getting that information from?

I'd like to think the motor(s) would be listed here right?
http://www.roarracing.com/approved_brushless_motors.php

As of today, the link doesn't show any results for "Turnigy" or "TrackStar" for me

thats the old list. go back one page and look at my posts. i asked the roar tech director and he email me back last week. stating they were indeed roar legal. http://roarracing.org/4rmb/forumdisp...otor-Approvals

go to the towards the bottom and read the "sticky". it states that the forum will be the new approvals section. the trackstars are legal. i have the documented proof.

cool. they have a littel higher powerband than the novaks. i had to go one tooth less on the pinion to get it to perform like the novak. but it was quicker acceleration on the infield ans the same speed on the straights.

This was my findings also . Went down 2 teeth from my orca motor 3.80 fdr in usgt and it pulls harder .
12.7 last week with orca and 12.4 this week with more practice and trackstar.very good motor.

they advertise a kv rating of 1855 vs novaks 1800 kv. and i like the fact that i can get one for under 40 bux if i trash one. but, the usa warehouse is showing only one 21.5 in stock. so it might be a little while before they get any more in stock.
