No such thing as Windows 10. Win 8 is the latest version. Most are still with Win 7.

However, you do likely have Internet Explorer 10.

Easy to confuse.

Ryan/Bill

Thanks a bunch guys, I did it!!!

Ryan I hope to see you again. I got the USB, and updated my VX & VX1 as recommend. Perhaps another asphalt race in SA? Thanks for all your help!

Bill your instructions worked great! Thank you.

I am having trouble with my vx. I am using v4.0 software with team powers plutonium 13.5t motor with 0 timing..increased from -2. I run boosted.
my setting is
timing start 20 to 25%
Timing 30
timing int -2
Turbo delay 0.09s
turbo 55
turbo int normal
drag brake 0
Punch level 7
Ratio 5.7 to 6.1
i tried many many variations in settings but i find my motor temps is too high after 5 minutes.
the track is a medium sized asphalt with high ambient temps in 38 celcius. I will be instlaling a more powerful fan for my motor to see if it makes a difference. Any suggestions would be great as i want to race at this track on the 17th.

Try turn down the motor timing and try the setting below
Ver.4.1
Stock mode
Timing start:10%
Timing 36*
Timing interval:+2
Turbo delay 0.02s
Turbo 56*
Turbo interval +3
PWM 8K
Punch 7
D.B.3%
B.F. 1K
Initial B. 10%
FDR 6.0-6.3
Temp your motor every 1 mins to make sure it under 170F*
if the temp. is still too high then keep lower the motor timing.

Just something else to look for, I had a motor that i ran for years and it started to just run really hot, nothing I could do to get temps down, gearing, timing.. Nothin worked, turned out I had shorted a pole about 2 turns in, not enough to affect performance but it definetly heated it up, just another thing to look out for

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Also i noticed my 4 row capacitors are missing one capacitor. Will this affect esc throttle performance or just brakes ?

Can try, check motor temp, -1 more save for hot weather.

my setting is
timing start 20 to 25%. Too high, bring more heat to motor.
Timing 30. Not enough "distance" for the motor to ramp up.
timing int -2. Too fast/fierce for regular timing reaction.
Turbo delay 0.09s. Too slow, caused the motor to drag too high rpm before turbo timing kick in.
turbo 55. Ok, can be higher. Check motor temp every step increased.
turbo int normal. Ok, normally is on +, but depend on your punch setting and your finger.
drag brake 0. Not wise, get too busy at your finger.
Punch level 7. Play between timing int & turbo int but watch your finger first, start at 6 better.
Ratio 5.7 to 6.1. 5.9 to 6.1 better for the track. check motor temp at every teeth increased. U could try increase the punch level if u decrease the FDR figure.

Thanks TXXT, one of the most detailed explanations from anyone.
But I disagree about drag brake. I use 0 because the track is high traction and by just turning on the steering , will slowdown the car. I hardly tap on the brakes, which I do when I am going to hit something only.
Also one more question. I just replaced my 14ga wires to 12ga, for the + and -.
I also replaced my damage capacitors. What I find odd is before changing capacitors, everytime I plug in the batteries with the switch off, there will be a small spark from the last connector I put in. But now there is no spark at all. I am sure that I soldered the capacitors correctly. Am I doing something wrong ?

Your most welcome.

Not much increase in power with that wire to me but a few gram heavier is for sure.

The sparkling thing is ok, i guess, as long as the esc works right and fine. Need other member's input here. I might wrong.

A car must know where or when to slow down to go faster.
Using steering to slow down the car will cause your front tire to wear faster than the rear, especially the outer edge, less lateral grip at the corner, car will push especially at corner exist. You must take advantage of the high grip asphalt to make your car faster not use it to slow down your car. Eg, stiffer rear diff, less rear toe-in, stiffer but linear shock, higher RC, etc.

Sorry a bit off topic. Just my 2 cents.

Help please

Hi, I've just purchased a new Orca VXX esc, program card & USB port.
I can't get the thing to work! I plug the card into esc receiver wire like the instructions says and the program card has been in loading mode for over 30mins each times and I'm trying for the third time now.
I'm suppose to be racing tomorrow morning.. Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Check your connection at the speedo to program box, if it's the wrong way around it does this.

That's normal. It's caused by the capacitors charging.

Thanks Keith Yu and TXXT. The settings seem to be working, even though I did change it a bit.
