Bought this speedo at the Reedy race. The orca team said to use 3.3 in stock and 4.1 in mod if that helps anyone here.

That's because 3.3 is ROAR approved and 4.1 isn't yet. So 3.3 would be required for stock.

BTW I don't see 4.1 posted anywhere yet. Only the 4.0.

4.0 on the VXX gives you the option of routing the motor wires the "standard" (C-B-A) way--does 4.1 give you the same option?

Are there any indications of power on, full throttle and full brake on the VXX? For example on the LRP Flow you will get a solid light when you are at 100% throttle or 100% brake in addition to a power on light. All I am seeing on my VXX (regardless of throttle position on the transmitter) is a bright blue blinking LED to indicate blinky mode. I don't see any power on light or throttle/brake lights, is this normal? Updates downloaded beautifully and ESC was super easy & quick to program--just wondering why no indicator lights?

Yes its normal , the only light that should be on in blinky mode is the blue one, I have just tested mine and that's the only one displayed. If you ran anything but blinky mode then you will see the solid lights you are describing.

HTH.

I believe the 4.1 is the "official" ROAR release number of the software but there arent any major changes to it other than the number. I am waiting on an email back to find out.

I'm guessing the 4.0 program card still works with 4.1 esc's? They seem to have updated the ESC list but not the card.

Yeah it says the program card requires the same version as the 4.0

" 2014/04/01 VX Competition Ver 4.1 140419A (Submitted to ROAR) New!!

( This firmware must be match PROGRAM CARD Ver 4.0 140319A to used. ) "

They must have changed something between the 4.0 and the 4.1 though or they just would have submitted 4.0

This is correct. $.0 programming box software works for both 4.0 and 4.1 ESC softwares
