Default Plastic Servo Horn VS Metal Servo Horn?

Hey guys, i was just wondering. My Hitec servo came with a Metal Servo horn, and i want to know if theres a difference to the metal servo horn and the plastic one besides the material. Like would it affect the servo in any way? I'm currently using the plastic one right now. Thanks!

ive tried both and i havent noticed a difference at all the only thing i worried about with the metal one is the ballstud vibrating out as its metal on metal but it never happened while i was using it and ive never broke a plastic one so i couldnt see a difference, not performance wise at least i think its just for bling

Thanks for your reply. Wouldn't the Metal Servo horn cause more stress to the servo since its more thicker than the plastic?

Some high torque servos can cause plastic servo splines to 'jump' or shear when under load, as i found out on a XQ power S4020D 20kg steering servo. Since changing to metal, no problems.

Bingo. High power/speed servos will trash up a plastic arm in short order if you put 'em in a high-load enviroment. Buggy Racers probably will never run into it, but the Monster Truck crowd knows all about it.
