Default Good battery for 1/8th scale 4s?

What is a good battery for a 1/8th scale buggy. Im looking at getting the 4s batteries. Is it important to have a higher discharge rate or will a lower one work just as good? Hardcase or soft? What are you guys running? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Tony

What does the buggy weigh ?

What motor are you using ?

What speed do you have it geared for ?

Cheers

We recommend at least a pack with a 35c rating or higher with our systems. Although they are more money then most, the Protek and Thunder Power packs have proven to be very reliable and provide excellent performance in all of our testing of motors and esc's. Both these companies also provide good customer service where you can talk to somebody on the phone. If you plan on racing I would suggest getting a pack with at least 5000mah and 40c or higher.

Packs should be at least 40c to run nice. Don't buy junk packs to power your expensive toy. Thunder Power although expensive have the ability to be charged at very high rates with an approved charger which is a plus, with a 2 year warranty.

Default Why such high 'C' ratings

Castle's site states the mamba monster max in 120 Amp continuous draw. A 25C 5000 can supply 125 amps. So why would I need a battery that supplies 200 (40C 5000). I’m just trying to educate myself. I’m in the market for batteries and want to figure out what the additional amperage brings to the table.

Higher "C" usually hold their voltage better under load. More voltage equals more power.
Also the battery isn't working as hard with higher "C" ratings so they should last longer.

I would recommend going to the MaxAmps.com website and getting this pack made specifically for the HPI Vorza:

ROAR APPROVED
Lifetime warranty
45+mph in Vorza Flux
26 minutes average run time

Some brands have better reputations than others, VORZpy; best to do a little searching around before you decide.

Don't you work for MA, Brandon? Might want to include that info; if so, your recs aren't exactly unbiased.
