Before racing her again next weekend, I will install a new sensor cable.
I'll let you know the outcome...

It does record esc temp, battery voltage and rpm, BUT motor temp is not measured anymore since the last 2 runs. In the beginning it did and it was a very handy feature...

Any idea?

when you disable the motor overheat protection, it stops recording the temp

What is the difference in the 120a v3 and 120a v3.1? I know the 3.1 has an aluminum lower case but is that the only difference? Do they run the same software/accept same updates?

They both run the same firmware. The 3.1 also has rubber seals around the programing port and sensor ports. The fan is also raised up 1mm to help with better cooling.

Motor overheat protection was not disabled, BUT it must have been the sensor cable. I installed a different cable and he recorded again motor temps, all weekend long :-)
I ran a 6.5 Tekin gen 2, boosted and with turbo, in 4WD offroad. It's a great esc, it delivers amazing power!!!

hi guys, had a really strange problem with my Hobbywing V3.1 today.
I started my day with a X12 4.5 octa, ran great for about 5 batteries, then the regulator started blinking green (ESC overheat protection) and the next batterie, when i pulled the trigger about halfway down the motor just died and and when i relist the throttle again the motor would work again. I changed the motor and sensorwire. And now the ESC startes blinking green (ESC overheat) but when i but the program box on the ESC its only 89 degrees Celsius. the overheat protection is set at 125 degrees Celcius.

what is the problem with the ESC is it dead ? or is there something else wrong ?

Steven

5 degree c cooler with the raising of the fan for better airflow.I do have something else coming soon to lower the temp even more but it will be an upgrade not a complete new esc so the version number will not change for now.

Have you added any inserts to go above the 27.5 degree timing that it comes with as standard >
