Hi guys, got a very noob question here...

Ive moving into stock(17.5t boosted) and have swapped out the old Novak GTB for the Hobbywing XERUN V3 120a. The only Program box's i can find all say;

The Professional Program Box is suitable for the following ESC's:
1. XERUN Series Car ESC (Version 2.0)
2. EZRUN Series Car ESC (Version 2.0)
3. PLATINUM Series Helicopter/Aircraft ESC's

Is this the correct one and will i just need to upgrade the firmware to work with my V3?

Thanks!

From looking at the positive responses, most of you are using this ESC for modified classes.

Has anyone compared this ESC to Tekin RS in the "blinky" mode? Please provide some feedback.

Thanks.

The speedo runs extremely well in 17.5T for me and a number of other on road drivers. As you've already heard it has buttery smooth throttle response. I have the blinky/no-timing settings set for maximum punch and have plenty of rip as the Weavernator can testify.

I like mine quite a bit however this weekend noticed that it really is lacking in terms of brakes.
The layout had two high entry speed tight corners where I really needed more braking power.

I had drag brake at 20%, brake force at 100%.

I do agree with you. It was a trade off for me in terms of some loss of braking force for stronger punch and better throttle response.

I would be curious if there's plan for a fix. A lot of guys have complained about the same thing.

+ 1 I too feel the brakes are very weak in boosted 13.5

I think the motor being run can play a large part in the strength of the brakes

Anyone had issue with their v3 loosing power on full throttle but also sometimes during acceleration? It's doing randomly and receiver is still powered. If I release throttle and punch it again it seem to regain power again for a while.

Sounds like a bad sensor wire ... did you try with another wire?

Yes. Haven't got the bottom of it yet but may have something to do with LVC

Agreed, if it's not the usuals (sensor related), check the LVC. The LVC is pretty sensative, and if you pull too much load out of weak batteries, it can cause the LVC to kcik in. I had this a number of times when running it on auto, so now always manually set the LVC to either off (and time the runs) or 3.0v.

HiH

Well, yes I did - I used speedo in my modified buggy and then tried it in stock TC and as they use different length of sensor wire I had to use different one.

As for LVC - I guess it shouldn't happen with fully charged batteries and especially not with 17.5T motor in TC and with zero boost mode.
