Default No reverse Losi ESC

I'm running a Losi XXX-s with a LOSb9522 esc.
last night I was experiencing glitches. Today I rebuilt the brushed Atom Smasher motor.
After rebuilding I noticed that there was no reverse. Only forwards. I tried following these instructions

One Touch Endpoint Setup
NOTE: Please be sure to set all throttle trim settings to neutral
before performing an endpoint setup.
A. Hold button and turn on ESC until the Red/Green light
comes on. Once on, release button.
B. Pull trigger to full throttle position until the green light goes
from flashing to solid. Once solid, your forward endpoint is
now set.
C. To set reverse endpoint, push the trigger into the full
reverse position until the flashing red light turns solid. At this
point your reverse/brake endpoint is now set.
D. Return trigger to neutral setting. The green light will now
be solid and you are ready to go!
And all went well programing it. It moves forward, but won't move backwards. When going forward it lights up a green LED. When i push the trigger to go in reverse however, the LED lights Up red but it doesn't move

(at this point the motor is out of the car and still won't work. This was also done with the motor on and off of the esc.)

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you did it right if you followed all instructions. Does the brake work? How long are you waiting for reverse? It is on a delay so it takes a second or two one the motor stops.

I'm waiting until motor stops turning. It does brake suddenly, (motor just stops moving)
I also have tried waiting for long periods of time in between.

I have also followed these steps with no luck.
To change modes on your MSC-12L hold the set up key for
over 5 seconds while in neutral. Once you find desired mode,
simply release the key and you are ready for action.
Forward/Reverse mode—Solid Green LED
Forward Only mode—Fast Flashing Green LED
Practice mode—Slow Flashing Green LED
Crawler mode*—Solid Green and Red LED
*NOTE: Crawler mode is for use in rock crawling vehicles only.
Do not use this mode with
Although I do seem to get into the right setting, and the LED's blink like they are supposed to, it doesn't seem to allow me to rotate the motor in reverse.
I have tried to reverse the polarity of the wires going to the motor and it does rotate in reverse when doing so. With this in mind I'm amusing it's all the esc but have no idea how to fix this problem.

Sounds like the reverse side of the esc may be bad if you are using the solid green setting. And the forward and brakes are fine.

Also playing with it now, I'm noticing that the motor spins at max rpm no mater how lightly the throttle is pulled. It seems to pulse at max speed when pulling it lightly anything more than that it's at full speed. Is this normal while the motor is off of the suspension? Or is there something I can fix with the esc?

If you are sure your radio settings are correct and you programmed the esc properly. The esc is bad it sounds like. Whether its in the vehicle or not the motors rpm should be fully proportional to throttle input.

I took your word for it and visited my local hobby shop. The owner thought it may be the same thing. I ended up upgrading to a Brushless motor/ ESC combo. Hopefully now I'll have little to no problems with the car for a while.
Thanks again.

Searching now and this thread came up.
I just picked an XR10 that has a Losi Crawler ESC. Ran great for 3 days. Today, mid run. It just stopped moving, dead. messed with a few things and only has full reverse. Some steering but only full reverse.
Just got home. tried rebinding, ESC reset, different receiver, nothing. I have steering and full reverse. Nothing else. Even when I reverse Throttle on my radio.

ESC take a dump?
