ive had mine for a week now. my xerun v2.1, i would say is on par with the lrp, this v3 is even smoother. the software is better and has more options. i love it.

Castle (Smartsense) or Tekin (Dualdrive) both do

High amp draw motors (4 pole 550's in heavy SC trucks) will run hotter if the ESC stays in full sensored mode

I guess that's a resounding "No" on dual mode then.
I was hoping the "v3" would add that feature.

Price is too steep for a Hobbywing esc? People get HW esc's for the low price/ good quality. $217 is even more than a Team Orion R10 Pro.

Now you're reaching Tekin,LRP,Team Orion territory.

Are you able to test one of them back to back with something like a Castle MMP or Tekin RX8 and confirm if the ESC does indeed operate in a dual type mode ?

Cheers

Hey Guys-

Is this new speedo unique to the speed passion and team orion versions? Or is it simply a software difference?

I need a new speedo for my durango short course truck and am deciding between

hw v3, team orion R10 pro, and apparently speed passion has a new one coming out?

thanks

This will run a pro4 or sc411 no problem?

I'd be curious to see a response to crusey's question about dual type mode, or the lack thereof. I would agree that the price seems like an awfully big jump from their other products. Heck I own a Hobbywing esc (SCT-Pro), but if I could have gotten a comparable Tekin, Castle, etc. for cheaper, I would have. More power to 'em for shooting for the stars on their price, but I'm still a ways away from throwing down that kind of green on a Hobbywing. If, after several months, and many "guinea pigs", it turns out the V3 is the next best thing since sliced bread, I may reconsider.

I personally don't have any other brand speedo's to test back to back. However I have someone doing just that for me.

The new v3 has all the adjustments that tekin has. The new v3 usb link software is very nice as well. I believe that this new v3 software will rival many other company's. As for price point I think it may be a bit high for the name but I also think its well worth the price.

Once I get some testing done I will let everyone know.

Well I was able to run my Hobby Wing Speedos on the 12th. WOW they are smooth I was very happy how well the worked and how smooth they are.

I will be doing some testing with the V3 speedo in a 4x4 sc st see what all it can do. I have able to play with the V3 software a bit and its really easy to use and rivals other company's software.

If you have any questions on Hobby Wing products please feel free to ask I would be glad to help in any way.
