I have a Venom 3,000mah ni-metal hydride battery. It has been doing fine until a few days ago. I was charging it as per normal. But it was unusually very hot at the end of the charging session. The charger reads a fully charge capacity of 3,300+ (as usual) but this time round the battery only last a few minutes of run time. I discharge and charge the battery but it still give the same problem. What could have possibly happened? Please give me some advice. Anyway can I revive my battery? Thank you.

bump

i have a venom 3000 8.4v (7cell) pack, that was acting horrible
run ->charge -> run, took around 2000-2500 and was acting like my good (tenergy 6 cell 3000 packs, that take 3200-3500)

run -> discharge -> charge -> run, and it discharge drained around 300ma from it, then charged it for 3500
then it drove like a 7c pack should

anyone else with a venom pack should try that to see if it wakes them up too

This seems to support my testing with old nimh, a slow discharge to 0.7v per cell and then a slow equalizing charge is enough exercise to bring them to good performance. Beware of cell reversal though. I wonder if bellow 0.5v per cell would do good once in a while.
