Jog wheel is kinda cheap feeling... the "tactile feedback" isn't in sync with the "audible feedback"... meaning turning the wheel one notch doesn't always register as an event. Weak.
The charger is very configurable... there are several things that I've wanted to do on my 16x5v6 (such as optionally cycle charge-discharge or discharge-charge) that this charger will let you do.
I'm also really into trying out the "reserve time" feature that let's you know how long a charge *should* take... and let's you schedule the start of the charge with a timer so that it peaks before the next race. That's f*cking rad.
I've noticed that the thermometer seems to be a few degrees off from the thermometer on my multimeter... but i'm not sure which one is more correct. I anticipate the thermometer getting a lot of use... letting me more comfortably experiment with higher peak detection thresholds without having to watch the charger.
One thing that I'd love to see Duratrax (or whoever made it) add: A deep discharge mode. I typically discharge batteries at 8 amps, then let them rest for a minute, then 4 amps, then 2 amps.... the lower discharge rates seem to suck the last bits of energy out of the batteries better... resulting in them having to spend less time on the equalization tray.

Actually there are a lot more differences. One thing I don't like about the Triton is with some packs it takes a while to "ramp" up to charge amps and even some it never gets up to the set amperage. Also my main complaint is that you set the peak detection ina totally different screen than the rest of the settings and it does not change when you change charge profiles. Also having another charger with a motor run will be nice. That way when my GFX is busy I can still cut comms.

The bad thing about doing like this, is increased risk of cell reversing.

From the explanations I'veheard the 3-phase charging may be a benefit for dead-shorted batteries, by usinga lower rate to wake them back up before blasting them with a high current charge.
Net pricing on the Ice just looked to attractive to pass up.....and if it doesn't work out, I'll simply buy another charger.
Nosram isn't an option as theyhave no presense that I know of in North America.
The nail in the coffin was the thread posted about the Pulsar 2 asking about the blue smoke. I have 2 friends that lost their Pulsar Comp 1's to static shock cooking the electronics. Until there is an explanation given, I'll stay away.
Who knows...6 months from now I may jump all over a Pulsar 2.
Burned LRP's is a heavy argument, cant beat that.
It's very interesting about the multi phase charging. It sounds logical to me. Please keep us updated.

Hi i am from Perth in Australia and i have an ice and i think they are gret they have one major advantage over any of the major competitors in australia and the back up from the supplier over here in Australia is really good. LRP in australia is hard to get and expensive and the agent changes every 6 months so that sucks!!!
I just got an ice and its amazing compared to the pulsar and quasar. It has a ton of features, and for the most part they are very helpful. I also love the look of it, the blue anodizing looks great.
is that built quality seem lacking. Then I fist opened it up and pulled the stickers off the sceen, the face plate came out. The dial seem cheapy, but it works.
