Default Li-Po Balancer

Hi the product tech recommend me the following balancer:
Cars: Team Checkpoint balancer
Other: Electrifly Equinox balancer
Which of this is the best choice? As I am using for my 1/10 car.
Thks!

Team checkpoint features:
For LiPo battery packs with 2 to 3 cells assembled in series
(not parallel)
Designed only for LiPo batteries which are wired for balancing
Balances individual cell voltages during charge or discharge
Used in conjunction with a separate charger or discharger it
controls exactly how cells are charged or discharged so they are
balanced at all times (Charge Thru Mode)
Functioning alone it can quickly balance the voltage of all cells in
the pack (Discharge Balance Mode)
Handles up to 6 amps in Charge-Thru Mode (with separate charger or
discharger with the included adapter for Team CheckPoint LiPo
batteries
Automatically checks for poor quality cells
Banana plugs on input for easy connection to charger/discharger
come with Banana plugs 2S Adapter (TCPP9151), optional 2S Adapter XH Plu (TCPP9155)
SPECS: Compatible Input Devices: LiPo chargers and dischargers ONLY
(operation based on nominal cell voltage of 3.7V per cell)
Cell Balancing Range: 2-series to 3-series LiPo packs (7.4 - 11.1V)
Adapter: For Team Checkpoint brand 7.4V LiPo batteries
Max. Current (chg or dsch): 6 amps with included CheckPoint
adapter
Discharge Termination: Auto-cut based on individual cell voltages
2.75V per cell in Discharge Balance Mode
3.0V per cell in Charge-Thru Mode with separate discharger
Discharge Current: 120mA per cell (Discharge Balance Mode)
Overload Protection: 7.5 amp auto (spade) fuse
Physical Dimensions: 3.23 x 1.57 x 0.59 oz. (82 x 40 x 15mm

Electrifly Equinox features:
Call balancing range: 2-5 cells
Discharge cut-off voltage: 2.75V per cell in quick-charge mode, 3.0V per cell in interface mode
Quick-balance discharge current: 120mA
Interface mode maximum current: 3A
Overload protection: 7.5A spade fuse
Dimensions: 3.32" x 1.57" x 0.59"
Weight: 1.55 oz
come with 3-Map adapters for 2S and 3S (2-cell and 3-cell) packs
This is an Electrifly GPMM3160 Equinox Li-Po (LiPo/Lithium Polymer) cell balancer. this helps you get the most performance out of your batteries by making sure each cell in the pack is at the same voltage. It connects between your battery and charger to balance while charging, or can be used alone as a cell discharger. It is for use with Li-Po battery chargers only. Your battery MUST be wired for cell balancing and cannot have charge protection circuitry built onto the battery. The set includes the balancer, 3-Map adapters for 2S and 3S (2-cell and 3-cell) packs, and babana clips plugs to plug into your charger.

As far as I can tell they will be identical other than included leads and cell capability. If you will never balance over 3S then it may not matter, but if you will go over 3 cells then the equinox is in order.

I'm just hoping to get into LiPo 1/8 scale. I already have an ice charger. So if I add a balancer while charging, this will work ok for those cells? It looks like if you put a balancer in that you are charging through the balance leads of the battery instead of the ESC leads is that right? Are those balance lead wires thick enough to handle a couple of amps of charge current? I know a charger with a balance port might be better, but will this setup work ok?

Correct. The balancer connects to the charger then you connect your battery to the balancer via the balance lead. You set your charger up like normal, and the balancer balances the cells while its charging. When the charge is finished you have a balanced pack ready to go.

This will work just fine. Most balancers tell you what charge rate they can handle up to
