Default brushless motors/esc's/ and stock wire length

many of the new brushless combos have wires like a foot long. i know some of these brand you are NOT supposed to shorted the wires.
would love to see a chart as to what can be done to what.

some of my setups need wires 3 inches long. having the stock motor without solder joints and wires 8 inches long is a pain.

Battery wires can be as short as you like

Some motor wires are used as part of the windings and cannot be shortened

Ask the manufacturer of your motor

Cheers

I had the same question, so I sent it to Novak and got their response, that you can shorten wires, but it is best to keep the A.B.C. wires, (motor wires) the same length.

As far as sealed motors without solder tabs, I'd avoid shortening those, as many are not user serviceable.

a friend had the castle sidewinder cheapy system and the wires are like a foot long. he had them all wraped around the shock tower. when i offered to shorten them for him he said castle told him not too. A neu 1515 motor that has the armature wires coming out of the can i know cant be shortened.
