Default Hobby People Servos HP-D66MHV

ok, just thought i would drop some Insight on some new servos.
Hobby People HP-D66MHV Servos
(i know someone is saying Hobby People Servos....!?!?!)
now hopefully we can get past the
well this is no good
that is is better
this doesnt work,i like these better. etc. etc. etc.
No one "Cares"
but everyone is Happy "That Works for You"

what this is to let some maybe looking into getting a
Viable Alternative to the "Over Priced Servos"
some may have seen some of my Reviews on different products?
i Mostly do them on Local Levels since postings in Forums usually results in people just getting "Stupid"
but i thought, with the "Economy" being what it is...and i really dislike those "Naysayers" with the well if you can't afford it then you shouldnt be in this sport.....those are the "Worst"
this i thought should have a "Second Look"
I run both Nitro and Electric, have several cars of both...and in General i have more fun just having fun...
i race Seriously, but even at "Pro Level" i still have the frame of mind
it just fun....
so, the servos...for our test bed i decided to use what
"Everyone calls Servo Killers" and decided to use 2 of them one for throttle and one for Steering in one of my Losi 8ight-T 2.0's
Personally i havent had any problems with any servos in any of my
8T-2.0's but "What i do notice"
many do not raise the rear throttle servo Enough and they seem to Grind Away on the chassis, perhaps this could be the Plight of the failing servos...??? i could not say exactly...?
so many factors in that Debate alone i do not think even Stephen Hawkins could calculate it out...???(i think i spelled his name right?)

so with a Rating of 222,oz @ .13 i knew be no problem swinging the tires around.....
( i know there are some going what the ..??? only 222 oz..???
how can it turn...??? you need 6 thousand ounces of Torque !!)
and for Throttle, was more than Enough as well as enough speed, and a no brainer for Braking.......

so we loaded up and headed to our local Track Revelation Raceway
in Ontario California.....
for anyone racing there the track is just one of those you get there and just say....OMG....!!!!!
the jumps are Huge, with Truggies and Buggies on some layouts with the cars 15+ feet in the air with 40+foot spans between Landings.
not to mention with sweepers and some turns to have enough Inerta to pull servos "Hard"
our Latest layout was no different with the new Challenges to make one ask...?? Can i make that Jump...??
here is our Current one, i like to thank
Aerial Media for such Awesome Pics......!!!!!!!
and to also give an idea of the scale of this monster track....

so with the Previous Practice days was judging what tires to use for the conditions at hand, and started out, first i noticed i did not "Notice Anything"....???? it felt like the other sets of servos we tried....??? not to say any were better or worse....???
"I Could not Notice a Difference"...??? as some will notice and say
ok i used brand-X and it was just the best thing since sliced bread.

what i do notice in some servos at the "Start" there fine and at the end of it's EPA range settings, but in the "Middle" i have noticed some servos feel "Soft" "Middle of the Turn"
these did not...felt good through the entire throw......and i have only felt a few other types of servos with more,
One being the Seiko servos
but then you'll have this with most servos in the 130.00+ price range.
but these at $49.00 i thought ?? Eh,ok a Decent servo to try..???
and i did not have a High Expectation..??? but instead i think i found a new servo to now use....!!!
for 2 weeks been hammering out on these, but this week will be the first i will trying these in a "Race Condition"
again i am not to Judge other servos, i like them all and have used them all....servos of "Today" are by far better and Stronger then just a few years ago....!!!
but these for around $49.00ea. Street price....hard to beat?
considering for 2 out the door be around 98.00 to 106.00
as compared to "Average" priced paid for some servos for 2 at 300.00....that some savings to get some Tires......LOL

ok, ok, so all this pep talk....??? ........But......????????
yes, there is a down side......as i mentioned i also race Electric...
now these servos are rated to be used "Without a Regulator"

(as long as your Receiver can Handle a straight Li-po pack plugged in,some can't check your specs for your Receiver most 2.4Ghz systems can)

so you can plug them right to a Li-po battery(typical 7.4 2s)
and i get about an Hour of runtime with my 2000mah Li-po Receiver pack.....at 1:10 it got "Soft pretty Quick"
so like many things i tried them with a Life pack and the trust and true Ni-packs......now with the life pack and Nimh packs they
"Will Work" but the "Voltage" needed to push them is not there....
so they have that slight "Down Side" and if running Electric, most ESC's will only put out 6.0v to drive the Rec,and Servos
myself i countered this by using a Castle Creations BEC and set it to drive the servos at 7.2v constant......many may not like to use that option? most like the set it forget it thing...i do to but that is there for the Info if anyone likes, i did try them running off the ESC's standard output, and for me it felt "Sluggish" more so for being run on a Indoor "Clay Track" with Insane traction...!!! in a Truggy...!!!
once i put the Castle BEC on it felt like a 150.00 servo....
so how much Torque is 222oz.....???
well put it this way, we have servos savers on our cars for a "Reason",most will discount this Jem as a Nuisance?
but they are there for a Reason, on my Losi's i'll go maybe 1 turn "Past" the recommendation but usually half to 3/4
at that point there is more than enough to hold the tires on a Typical Losi 8T-2.0,so with the servos On,and the radio turned on.....
i grabbed the front wheels and moved them the servo did not move as the Saver did it's job the Tires did..!!! but servo and Linkages "Stayed" waiting for the Input from the Radio........
under "Normal Conditions" where you point the tires thats where it's going to go,but not weak to the point
to where you think you'll need more.....
"Speed Wise", of course some may comment .13 speed...??
that's Slow....??? i need a .00004 type servo.....!!!!!!
most servos on "Average" are around .07 to .09 "Average"
at .13 that is a "Small Gap" between .09 and .13...!!!
faster than our Electrical Impulses work in our bodies
on some of us older cats....LOL
or faster than we can Blink......
if you have a "Digital Radio System" you'll have no problem
"Feeling Connected"

like most in this hobby i do not get items for free...i pay for it.
but i do buy many different kits,Electrical Items,Nitro Motors, parts etc. to try when people ask about some items....i have the means so i give stuff a "Try"
hey everyone has Questions right..???
and again, this is not about this is better or that works better...???
it's about if your on a Budget,and or looking for a Alternative to spending $130.00 -140.00 or even 150.00 on a servo...here's a chance...

i do hope this little bit of info can help........

here is a basic idea of track at ground level, little different layout
little more "Mellow"...was one of the just having fun Nights
was using a P5 i was still breaking in,so was being kinda "Mellow" myself.....
enjoy...!!..

And I thought my writing was bad. I feel like I need to take some grammar classed after trying to read that.

You also missed lots of key points... Longevity/life expectancy, power consumption/draw, centering ability, progression, etc. Poor review.

If anyone wanted economy, I'd tell them find a decent pair of used servos. They'd still run circles around these... And they probably wouldn't even need to rollick some post to compensate for their insecure purchase.

yea was curious so my wife droped it through a "Spell Checker"
Uuuhh...yea....???????
can someone check the grammer in this one to i just dont know what to do..!!

what a Knucklehead...???? no one cares about the grammer...!!!...LOL
it got the point across....LOL
why are these yo-yo's so nit-picky....LOL

now on your should i Quote:
You also missed lots of key points...
well Hoopdy gaga la...!!!...LOL why the Negitivity...????

Longevity/life expectancy.....
well if you "Had Read It" i had Reciently Purchased them...??
so the L-O-N-G Term is not Quite CALCULATED......LOL
Good greif Man....????

power consumption/draw....
well let me bust out "Ohm's Law Here....???????
again if you had "READ" i got about an hour free and Clear....
if i really needed to go into detail i guess could have...???
but if you "Realize" if your getting bout an "HOUR" with a li-po
on "AVERAGE" with a 2000mah....you need to do some more math bro...???
most racers will be "Fine with getting an HOUR on a single charge in anything...LOL

centering ability.....
well at my level of Driving "EXPERIANCE" if i did not notice it drifting all over the track and pointing in different directions....!?!?!?!?!
chance are there is a 99.999999999999999999999999% your not going to notice as well...????
but if you had to know....it held centered and "True"

progression, etc......
Progression.....to what a bad dream....?????

Poor review.

may not know that.....

good greif man....get over it...????
you make everyone in Mobile Alabama looking "Stereo Typed"...!!!
thats the worst....?????
no need to be so mean...????
but i have to ask...??? where di you learn to read....????
seems everyone else did not have much of a problem...???

see Gentelmen, this is exaclty the poor example of when someone tries to help...you get one person to want to F-it up...??? why....????

ok,

Ahhh, Jaz
a great point to point out i did forget to mention the Spline number.
sorry bout that....but it is a 25 spline
and thanks for not Slamming me....send me a email in a PM i'll send you like 20.00 in some graphics...(custom stickers stuff like that)
let me know what kinda ride you have Mugen, losi, caster etc. etc.

Who cares what the he says. That was an excellent review, makes me want to pick up a couple to try out. The video just proves that it's definitely a decent servo for the price and high voltage to boot. The review was awesome and I would personally like to say THANK YOU.
