I have both and they are all good radios. It really depends on your preference. I use my 4PKs for nitro because its mass is an advantage for longer runs. Besides the 614 receiver can handle the higher voltages of the lithium packs.
The M11x is heavier by approx. 100 grams but you wont feel the weight for anything less than 8 mins. The 451-R receiver is supposed to have the lowest latency but I can't tell if its really quicker than the 614.

dont know about m11x but my 4pks and 614ff rx glitch when there's other futaba radio being used at the same time. had to result in using the older non high voltage 604fs to solve the problem. PITA if you ask me considering it cost a lot of dough.

Default 4pks

We are having this issue with the 4PKS at our track as well. Extremely random, but with 614FF, at larger races with up to 10 people on the stand at once, my X-ray 2012 will shut off. Haven't tried one of the older receivers yet but multiple people have this issue.

Im pretty disappointed because I have a lot of money tied up in receivers. My DX3R glitches in any model under any conditions.

I have to admit, the 4PkS is my favorite radio otherwise. MUCH easier to use than my M11 was.

M11X!! I love mines. Never had a binding problem like my friends experienced with Spectrum DX3R or like issues other people mentioned with 4PKS.

The 4PKS is a great and a Sold TX, I had the M11X there were times I had gliches when I ran it. I could tell a differences between the two radio from a response. If you run Nitro I like the features for control the throal.

I have purchased 5 different model. I keep going back to Futaba. I would even look at the 4PL. It has cheaper RXs ($39-$49). The only problem that I have found is there is no down grade to a cheeper receiver. For example I have a cheap Traxxas Stampeed lots of fun. But I don't want to spend a $100+ for a receiver. The $49 futaba RX uses different system to talk to the radio and is incompadable with the 4PK/4PKS.
